Hello Grade 3/4 Students and Parents!

My name is Natalee Clarkson and I am very excited to welcome you to my classroom. I am a graduate of Nipissing University’s concurrent education program where I studied psychology, English, geography and education. I have been in a wide variety of classrooms including Montessori, Special Education, and teaching English in Ecuador. I love to read, hike, and spend time outdoors.

We are lucky to have a  variety of specialist teachers on our team this year! I will be teaching math, language, and units of inquiry. Ms. Cranfield will be teaching gym, music, drama, and dance. Mme. Villeneuve will be teaching French, and Ms. Doucette will be teaching art. We are all very excited to begin the school year with you!

Our classroom blog will be updated every evening (, which will be ready for the start of school. I can be reached by e-mail at Please allow a response time of 24 hours.  We will communicate important information via the classroom blog and student agendas. Please review and initial agendas nightly with your students to stay up to date.

You can expect weekly spelling lists to review at home. Other homework will be assigned on an as-needed basis (not finished in class, needs extra practice, summative assignments etc.). Grade 3s have gym with the 1/2 class Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Grade 4s have gym with the 5/6 class everyday.
*Grade 4s- Please bring a bag to store your gym uniform in at school.*
By combining the gym classes, I will have the chance to give individualized attention to both the 3s and 4s separately for ½ hour each day. This will give us the time to review specific concepts relative to each student as needed.

Important Dates for September

Tuesday September 5th: First Day of School

Wednesday September 27th: Casual Day ($2.00 per day or $20.00 for the year)

Thursday September 28th: Terry Fox Run (details to follow)

I am available Monday August 28th from 10am-2pm if you would like to meet me and check out your new classroom.

I hope you all have an enjoyable last week of summer and cannot wait to see you all in September!

~ Miss Clarkson
