May 23rd

This morning, students continued reading Holes and/or books they purchased from Scholastic.

They then had Gym with Ms. Cranfield.

During Math, students explored Order of Operations   P/BEDMAS.



They then had Art with Mrs. Doucette and did a practice Spelling Bee.

At the end of the day, students practiced for their upcoming Dramatic Performance.

May 21st

We hope you all had an amazing weekend!

This morning, students shared about their weekends and continued working on Holes. 

They then practiced for Track and Field in Gym with Ms. Cranfield.

During Math, students explored Algebra. They completed substitutions and then played a game to reinforce what they have learned.

After lunch, students visited the Scholastic Book Fair. The book fair is on tomorrow as well and students will be given an opportunity to make purchases.

Students then tried out their Solar Ovens from UOI.

At the end of the day, students worked on their Influential Person writing assignment.

Movie Trip Form

On June 7th students from K – 6 will be taking a trip to the Orangeville Galaxy Theatre to watch the Secret Life of Pets 2 from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. Please return your form to classroom teachers by Friday May 31th. All money and permission forms are due early to ensure orders can be placed promptly at concessions. You can pay with cash, cheque or email money transfer to the Maples PTA. Unfortunately, no orders can be placed at the time of the show, so it’s important to get your pre-orders in. Please remember that the bus will only be taking the student to the theatre and not returning to school. This is a family event and parents, grandparents and guardians are welcome to attend.

May 14

Today was SCIENCE DAY!

Students started the day with a demonstration by Mr. Playford (Thanos).

They then rotated through stations about density, oil spills, and soil erosion. They also created chemical reactions to reveal secret messages and also created flags and cheers related to science.

Mr. Playford then demonstrated some exothermic reaction experiments.

It was also ice cream truck day. Students enjoyed an ice cream treat at the end of the day!

Happy Monday!

This morning, students continued reading Holes and shared about their weekends.

They had Health with Ms. Cranfield.

They then worked on their transformation math summatives.

After lunch, students had Music with Mrs. D

At the end of the day, students completed a writing assignment titled "The Influential Person in my Life"

Happy Friday!


This morning, students enjoyed their reward for filling the pom-pom jar. They watched A Wrinkle in Time. 

Students also had Gym with Ms. Cranfield.

After lunch, students worked on their solar ovens and completed some silent reading.


Today was the Battle of the Books competition. The Maples were second runner ups. Great work team!
